Towarzystwo Ubezpieczeń Europa S.A., the only insurer present on WSE for as much as 13 years, left the floor on October 23rd. - After many years of dynamic growth, we are starting a new stage. As a result of ownership structure changes, we became part of two strong insurance companies - Talanx and Meiji Yasuda. However, within their structures, we will remain a company with its own strategy and vision of growth, retaining its existing unique character – says Jacek Podoba, President of Europa.
Europa was first listed on the stock exchange in June 1999. It was one of two insurance companies listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange. The price of one share on the date of listing amounted to PLN 7.5, while the capitalization was just PLN 19.6 million.
- During thirteen years, the value of the company rose almost one hundred times, reaching a capitalization of almost PLN 2 billion. We paid our shareholders dividends totaling almost PLN 200 million. The figures are self-explanatory - Jacek Podoba believes.
Today, Europa Insurance Group plans to further strengthen its leading position in the bancassurance sector in Poland, as well as to dynamically develop new areas of activity.
- We are working on the strategy for the next three years of our activity. Not only the shareholders' structure, but also the business environment and the macroeconomic situation changed. We have to adapt to new circumstances in order to be able to continue to set market standards - the President, Jacek Podoba, informed.
While conducting activities related to the new business strategy, Europa wants to build on experiences gained by its new investors. Talanx and Meiji Yasuda are top players on the global insurance market. Thanks to their strong capital, and using their international experience, Europa will be able to propose to its customers an even better product offer and thus become one of the leaders on the Polish insurance market.
